New rules regarding the Danish educational grant (SU) and study progress

If you are admitted to a new higher education programme on or after 1 July 2016, and you receive SU during your studies, you are allowed a delay in your studies of no more than 6 months (equivalent to 30 ECTS) compared to the number of SU monthly grants you have received. In case you are delayed more than 6 months, payment of your SU will be stopped. The new rules also apply if you complete a bachelor  degree programme and commence a master’s degree programme.

If you are enrolled in an educational programme that you have commenced before 1 July 2016, the previous  rules still apply to you according to which you are allowed a delay of a maximum of 12 months before payment of your SU will be stopped. We will monitor your study progress regularly. Read more about the SU rules at www.su.dk
