The PhD programme
PhD programmes at the Faculty of Social Science has a duration of three years. During the three years, the PhD student will be engaged in a variety of activities required to complete the programme. In addition to conducting research and writing a PhD thesis under expert supervision, PhD students are formally required to disseminate their research, complete relevant PhD courses, and change research environment (e.g., by a research stay at a different institution abroad).
The programme ends by submitting a thesis for assessment by an international committee and by publicly defending the thesis before a PhD degree can be awarded.
