Teachers no longer assess their own students’ written final exams at the end of 9th grade in Danish schools. This has led to a significant reduction in grade disparities between students from different socio-economic backgrounds.

Professor Christian Borch from the Department of Sociology at the University of Copenhagen will co-lead the new research centre ‘Crafting Quantum: From Scientific Promise to Societal Pathways’, which has just received a grant of DKK 50 million over six years from the Carlsberg Foundation. The grant marks the foundation's 150th anniversary.
