Scholarship announcements at the Faculty of Social Sciences
A PhD scholarship is usually announced through a call for applications. There are various types of scholarships, some of which are open calls, others have a specified topic and objective.
Successful applicants will be enrolled in one of the six programs in the PhD School in Social Science. At the same time, they will be employed either by the relevant department in the Faculty of Social Sciences, or by an external, private, or public research institution.
All current calls for applications for PhD positions at the University of Copenhagen are announced UCPH Job portal.
Open PhD scholarships by the departments
The deadline for applying to the department's 2025 Open PhD Scholarships has now closed.
The next call is expected to be in December 2025/January 2026.
PhD scholarships with specific topics and objectives
Calls for applications for PhD scholarships within a specific research area or with a specified topic or objective, are often part of a larger, collective research project or research group lead by a faculty member as principal investigator. They are announced throughout the year.
