Democratic Security or Strategic Irrelevance: Shaping Europe’s Future
We are pleased to invite you to an event with Alain Berset, the Secretary General of the Council of Europe.
With its 46 Member States, the Council of Europe is dedicated to defending human rights, democracy, and the rule of law, values that are increasingly contested both within and beyond Europe.
As Alain Berset has underlined, the Council’s priorities are clear: “standing with Ukraine in its fight for freedom and justice; revitalising our democracies under strain; and keeping our whole European family strong and united.”
The Council promotes democratic security, rooted in free elections, independent courts, a free press, equality, diversity, and robust safeguards against corruption.
This event is organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark and the Department of Political Science at the University of Copenhagen.
We hope you will join us for this timely discussion on the Council of Europe’s role in shaping Europe’s future.
